Paramedics with patient

The Victorian Budget 2019/20 includes:

Increased retirement benefits for emergency services personnel

$60 million to increase the retirement benefits of police and emergency services personnel, ensuring those who protect us are protected in their retirement.

New CFA stations and upgraded life saving clubs

$17 million to upgrade or build new CFA stations at Armstrong Creek, Phillip Island, Junortoun and Riddells Creek, and upgrade surf life saving clubs at Jan Juc, Carrum and Barwon Heads.

Mental health support for emergency services personnel

$14.5 million for our paramedics, police, Protective Services Officers, firefighters and SES workers, to ensure Victoria’s emergency workers can get the mental health support they need, without the wait.

Expanded Surfers Rescue 24/7 program

And as promised, the Victorian Government will invest $1 million to expand the Surfers Rescue 24/7 program, teaching surfers critical CPR skills, how to perform board rescues and how to apply basic first aid on the water.
