It’s a project that has been talked about for more than half a century.

This year’s Budget fully funds the $15.8 billion North East Link – Melbourne’s missing link – finally making it a reality.

Connecting the M80 Ring Road at Greensborough to the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen Road, the North East Link will cut travel times by up to 35 minutes and remove trucks from local and arterial roads.

Just as importantly, this project will give local roads back to local people – taking 19,000 vehicles a day off Greensborough Highway, 16,600 off Fitzsimons Lane, 11,600 off Rosanna Road and 13,300 off Manningham Road.

Not only will North East Link make a real difference to families across our suburbs, during the construction phase, the project is set to create more than 10,000 jobs.
